CNC milling—when to choose it
CNC milling cuts prismatic and contoured parts from plate or billet with rotating tools—pockets, profiles, holes, and 3- to 5-axis surfaces.
Choose milling for brackets, housings, plates, and non-rotational geometry. Rotational-dominant parts usually quote cheaper as turning or mill-turn.

DFM tips for CNC milling
- •Add internal corner radii ≥ tool radius; sharp CAD corners force tiny tools.
- •Deep pockets: widen or step depths to allow stubby tools.
- •Standard hole sizes and threads quote faster than odd drills.
- •Put tight tolerances only on fits; leave stock for grind if needed.
- •Tell us material temper and whether surfaces are cosmetic.
